Cimandis saves Rock in the Park

Rock in the Park is due to go ahead after securing new sponsorship with Cimandis
The Islands biggest free annual event, which has been held in Howard Davis Park for 11 years, was in danger of being cancelled after its pervious sponsor: Jersey Post, withdrew its funding this year.
The concert, which raises money for charity, usually takes place on a Sunday in August and features local bands.
This year, it will now be sponsored by Cimandis, the food and beverage service division of SandpiperCI.
Dave Chalk, Managing Director of Cimandis, said: ”We believe it is important to support local events and help out wherever possible to keep local events going. We like to sponsor music and local events and we support other local music events as well. Its good to give the local bands that chance to show their skills off.”
Mr Chalk said the company would be funding the event but that the sponsorship would be under the brand drink "Relentless".
Frank O’Neil, one of the Rock in the Park organisers said, “It is brilliant. I am chuffed to bits. It would have been a real pity to lose it. We are definitely going to do it. We are saved.”
The event is booked to take place on the 17th August this year and Mr O’Neil said he would now be applying for a permit for the event.
