Cimandis Sponsor the Taste Guernsey Industry Award Dinner

The Taste Guernsey 2016 dinner and Awards evening, sponsored by Cimandis, at the Duke of Richmond saw more than 100 key figures in the island’s food and hospitality sector witness the announcement of this year’s CI Chef of the Year winners.
The CI Chef of the Year and the senior Chef of the Year awards was won by Simon McKenzie of the Old Government House Hotel with Helder Agostinho of the Duke of Richmond taking second place.
The winner of the Junior Award was Julia Quevatre from Pavilion with Ben Millar from Jersey’s HIghlands College runner up.
In the new People’s Panel awards Steve Bacon from CFE announced that Simon McKenzie also won the people’s senior award and Ben Millar the junior award.
Taste Guernsey made special awards to Randalls for their Blue Bottle Gin and to White Rock Brewery in producer/supplier category.
Andrew Tabel presented the first Guernsey Dairy Kiosk of the year award to the team from the Portlet kiosk.
An outstanding contribution award was made to Steve Scuffell from the Craft Guild of Chefs who visited the island once more to support Taste Guernsey and the island’s food promotion.
Tony Leck, Chairman of Taste Guernsey said that the evening was a very special event; “The evening is a chance to celebrate what is so brilliant about food in Guernsey . Not only have we been giving awards to winners in the chef of the year competitions we have also been celebrating the best in local produce. Plus everyone enjoyed a special menu showcasing island food local produce too. Thanks to our event sponsors Cimandis, the competition and the evening has been very special."
