Shona O’Sullivan; a 17 year old student at Highlands College, currently studying Business, has been carrying out 2 weeks work experience at Cimandis.
This placement will mean Shona will be involved in many different areas of the business and already she has been included in a conference call with Coca-Cola about the campaign they are running in partnership with 2014 FIFA World Cup™.
Shona said “Already my placement here is something I am looking forward to and all the different areas that I will be involved with will allow me to get a rounded view of all the departments involved in making a business like Cimandis function efficiently.”
The types of things a placement at Cimandis will include are areas like meeting with restaurants and assisting in sales meetings, promotional material such as flyers, retail, branding and merchandising for Coca-Cola, attending a meeting for the Rock in the Park, going out on customer calls, accounting with the commercial team, spending a day doing operational duties such as going out on deliveries and following a set schedule as well as back office work, completing audits and other admin related tasks.
At the end of the 2 week placement at Cimandis Shona has been asked to create a presentation all about her experience within Cimandis, showing what she has learnt and how she will be able to apply it to her college course as well as having gained experience in the manufacturing and distribution industries and what it takes to run such a business.
