All those who supported Kitchen Inferno are delighted to announce that £17,000 has been raised for Jersey Cheshire Home.
The money will go towards the Big Splash Appeal, raising funds for the vital renovation of the Home’s Hydrotherapy Centre. The refurbished facility, costing over £305,000 will offer new features and improved standards to all users, enhancing their experience. The regular therapeutic care that this facility and its qualified physiotherapists offer is an extremely important element of the resident’s wellbeing and benefits not only the residents but also many individuals, care homes and charities in the wider community.
The two Kitchen Inferno teams, made up of sixteen novice chefs had just one month to train before the head-to-head cook off in the Highlands Academy Kitchen last night. Seventy guests and Shaun Rankin judged their efforts. Diners were be served by the College’s catering students, and LIVE action from the kitchen was broadcast into the restaurant, so every move and mistake was seen!
David Lord, General Manager, Jersey Cheshire Home said: “Kitchen Inferno not only generated plenty of heat in the kitchen along with competitive spirit, but also this amazing contribution towards the residents Support fund, thank you so much on behalf of everyone at Eric Young House.”
Cimandis MD, Dave Chalk, was part of the Blue Islands Team who were victorious. Michelin-starred chef Shaun Rankin designed the menus for the Freedom Media event, which included some of Ormer’s most technically challenging dishes.
