Cimandis, the largest Food service provider in the Channel Islands has a new Managing Director. Dave Chalk, who was formerly the head of Commercial Finance at Cimandis’ parent company SandpiperCI, took up the position at the beginning of November.
Dave has a background in wholesale and retail markets, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and is a Non-Executive Director at the Jersey Opera House. He moved to Jersey four years ago to lead Sandpiper’s commercial finance team who are responsible for around 50 retail outlets (£200m turnover).
Dave Chalk commented: “Despite the difficult trading period, Cimandis is in a strong position. We work hard with our market leading brands, including: Coca-Cola, Hovis, Country Range, DB Foods and others to give our customers the very best products, prices and customer service.
“We will continue Cimandis’ recent improvements by maintaining excellent standards and customer service, whilst continuing to source new products to support the hospitality and retail sectors.”
Cimandis consists of five manufacturing and distribution businesses employing more than 200 people across the Channel Islands. The company supplies retail, catering and licensed trades with a wide range of products including: fresh meat, fish and produce, frozen, chilled and ambient items. The company also supplies soft drinks, owns the C.I. distribution rights for Coca-Cola and operates the only commercial plant bakeries in Jersey & Guernsey producing and delivering fresh bread on a daily basis to retail and hospitality organisations.
